Stefano comes into the arena with Something Stupid - Frank Sianatra blaring out of the sound system. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGillivary doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Stefano counters with a nice uppercut.

enabling Stefano to counter with a crisp jab.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Stefano enables McGillivary to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Stefano manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

and Stefano counters with a stiff right hand.

McGillivary takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Mark McGillivary seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McGillivary avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Stefano lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stefano shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
McGillivary takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Stefano looks to land a combination. McGillivary sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
