Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kopylov swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kopylov takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Sobolev with a lazy takedown attempt
and Kopylov counters with a series of strikes. Sobolev will be more careful next time no doubt.

Kopylov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sobolev moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Kopylov pushes Sobolev away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sobolev gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sobolev is trying to ground and pound but Kopylov uses the momentary lack of control by Sobolev to regain half guard.
Sobolev working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Sobolev prevents Kopylov from standing back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kopylov kicks Sobolev off and gets to his feet.
Sobolev moves out of range of the strikes.
Kopylov lands a jab to the nose.
Kopylov connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Kopylov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sobolev moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sobolev displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kopylov throws out the jab.
Kopylov throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sobolev on the side of the head.
Sobolev gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kopylov counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Vladimir Kopylov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maxim Sobolev.
Sobolev looks gassed!
Kopylov lands a nice hook to Sobolev's body. Sobolev takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Kopylov lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Kopylov stuns Sobolev with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Sobolev takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Sobolev walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Sobolev is rocked!
Kopylov is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kopylov closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Sobolev out cold! Sobolev corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
