Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Matthews!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Reed Andrews and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matthews has his takedown stuffed
letting Smashed Face counter with a right hand.
Smashed Face could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Matthews falls off balance throwing a combination
and Smashed Face counters with a nice uppercut.
Matthews closes the distance looking to clinch
and Smashed Face counters with a straight right hand.
Matthews wants to clinch
and Smashed Face counters with a stiff right hand.
Matthews misses with a takedown
and Matthews takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Smashed Face shoots in and bounces Matthews off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Smashed Face looking to pass the guard.
Smashed Face knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Matthews on the ground.

Matthews is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Matthews utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Smashed Face missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Matthews preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Matthews wants to get back to his feet but Smashed Face is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Smashed Face postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Smashed Face working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Matthews throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Smashed Face wants to pass the guard but Matthews is keeping the position.

Smashed Face scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Smashed Face might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Matthews looking for a guillotine here but Smashed Face defends easily.

Smashed Face cracks Matthews with a solid left hand.
Smashed Face working some strikes from top position.

Smashed Face shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Smashed Face with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.


Matthews is rocked!
Smashed Face is working Matthews over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Matthews is still in real trouble! Can Smashed Face finish him?
Smashed Face loads up on a big left hand. Matthews felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Smashed Face looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Matthews can't hide his disappointment, as Smashed Face celebrates the victory.
