PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fox Lao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lao comes to the cage accompanied by Terminator T-800 Song. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lao throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lao misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lao fails with the takedown
and Gunn counters with a stiff right hand.
Gunn throws a leg kick but Lao sees it coming and moves out of range.
Lao ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gunn moves away.
Lao throws a hook to the side of Gunn's head but Gunn sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Lao throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lao lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gunn circles away quickly and effectively.
Nice straight punches there by Lao. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Lao.

and Gunn counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Gunn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gunn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

and Gunn makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Gunn closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lao circles away.
Fox Lao seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gunn shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gunn was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Lao is desperately trying to improve his position but Gunn has a good base and remains in mount.

Gunn is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lao to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lao shrugs it off.
