Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Phillip Barron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mathew Maynard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barron comes to the cage accompanied by Dizzee Rascal - Bonkers. Maynard has chosen do it as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barron throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Maynard to counter with a crisp jab.

and Maynard connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Barron shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Maynard cracks Barron with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Barron lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Maynard hang on?
Maynard tries to hold on but Barron pushes him away.

Barron swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Maynard is now in Barron's guard. A big mistake from Barron there, giving up the dominant position!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maynard accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
