PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mu Sic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeet Kun Do (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sic kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Remember my NAME!. Do comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mama Said Knock You Out kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Mu Sic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jeet Kun Do!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sic takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Sic circles away from the clinch attempt
and Sic cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sic tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Do swivels and escapes.
Do tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sic looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Sic misses with a wild body shot.
Do is looking to clinch.
Sic goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Sic misses with a double jab.
Do misses with a head kick.
Mu Sic seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sic misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Do.
Do fails in his attempt to clinch.
Sic throws a predictable looking body shot
and Do counters with a slapping leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sic. Do does a little dance to reset his feet.
Do connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Sic is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Do tries to close the distance and clinch but Sic swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Do tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sic swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Sic on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Do. Do obviously looking to wear him down.

Do clinches up with Sic and pushes him back against the ropes.
Sic is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Do pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Do stalling the fight.
Do is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Sic goes for a takedown in the clinch but Do prevents it.

It looks like Mu Sic has been cut.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Do.

Sic tries to score a body lock takedown but Do shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Sic takes a knee right on the jaw!

Do softening up his opponent with strikes, against the ropes.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Do.
Do will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Sic up against the ropes.

Do is pressed up against the ropes. Sic has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Do down to the mat. Do avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Sic throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Do holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Still in the clinch, Do scores with a nice short uppercut.
Sic takes a shot to the head.
Sic is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Do pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Do lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Sic backwards.

and Do counters with a nice body kick.
Sic stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Do.

Do closes the distance and clinches.
Do throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Sics head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Do is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Sic is keeping busy.

Do keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sic's efforts to push away.

Do throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Sic blocks it with crossed arms.
Sic goes for a takedown attempt but Do pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and Do counters with a nice low kick that buckles Sic's knee momentarily.
Do has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Do lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Do throws a head kick but Sic moves out of range.
Do scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Nice body punch from Do.
Do throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Do scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Do tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Sic paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Do looking to stall.
Do scores with a nice hook to the head.
Do stalling in the clinch but Sic improves position.

Sic tightens his grip and picks Do up, before dumping him to the ground. Do manages to land in guard.

Sic thows a big elbow that misses.
Sic stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Do swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sic missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Sic in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Sic won't allow Do to get back to his feet.
Sic advances to half guard.
Sic takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Sic passes to side control.
Do is not content to let Sic control the position.
Sic has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sic looks up at the clock and then as Do takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Sic smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Sic scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Do to see if he's OK.

Sic working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Do is looking for a sweep.

Sic is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Do has escaped the position, nice work there.
Sic wants to lay and pray for a moment but Do keeps working.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeet Kun Do showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Do swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Sic counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Sic trying to control the position from guard on top but Do is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Sic with a flurry of punches that miss.
Sic postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Sic forces his way into half guard.
Sic throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Sic wants to take a breather but Do is having none of it.
Do is trying to get back to full guard.
Sic wants to control but Do is keeping him busy.
Sic thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Do's head.
Do has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sic is working away from the top position though.
Do takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Do has hold of Sic's hands but Sic slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Do is looking to escape.
Sic not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Sic is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Do as he works his way to full guard.
Do utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Sic wants to control from the top but Do keeps moving.
Do looking for a sweep. Not yet Do, not yet.
Sic lands a couple of elbows.
Sic trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Sic slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Sic will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Sic working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Sic is trying to get an arm triangle but Do is defending well.
Do is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Do is trying to get back to his feet.
Do defending against the ground and pound.

Sic has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Do is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Sic yanks on the arm and Do is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Sic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:02 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mu Sic!
