Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seth Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pasha Shukshin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Seth Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pasha Shukshin!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shukshin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Shukshin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Anderson to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Anderson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Anderson stands up over Shukshin, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Anderson showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Anderson drops back looking for a leg! Shukshin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Shukshin manages to kick Anderson off! Anderson jumps back into Shukshin's guard.
Anderson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Shukshin is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Anderson trying to control but Shukshin is working from the bottom.
Anderson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shukshin on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Seth Anderson.
Anderson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Shukshin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Shukshin tries a head kick but it misses.

Anderson is trying to push Shukshin away but Shukshin has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Shukshin tries to circle away but Anderson has him pinned against the cage.

Shukshin tries to pull guard but Anderson won't allow it.

Anderson manages to break the clinch.
Shukshin throws a head kick but Anderson moves out of range.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Anderson has Shukshin up against the cage in a clinch.
Anderson is trying to force a seperation but Shukshin has the dominant position.
Anderson tries to break the clinch but Shukshin is controlling the position.
A frustrated look appears on Anderson's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Anderson prevents a takedown attempt there.
Anderson is looking to break free of the clinch but Shukshin has double underhooks.
Anderson is trying to force a seperation but Shukshin has the dominant position.
Anderson is trying to break the clinch but Shukshin has him pressed against the cage.

Anderson manages to break the clinch.
Shukshin misses with a low kick.

Anderson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Anderson is pressing down on Shukshin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Shukshin is holding on for now.

Anderson stands up from half guard.
Anderson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shukshin is fending him off so far but Anderson persists. Nope, Shukshin circles away and we're back to standing.

Anderson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shukshin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Anderson gets a takedown into half guard.
Anderson drops an elbow to the side of Shukshin's head.
Well, if Anderson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Shukshin is not content to let Anderson control the position.

Anderson wants to take a breather but Shukshin is having none of it.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Seth Anderson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Anderson misses with a takedown attempt - Shukshin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Anderson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Anderson decides to stand and escape the position.
Anderson throws a series of punches but Shukshin moves out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Shukshin pushes Anderson off looking to stand but Anderson dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Shukshin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Anderson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Anderson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Shukshin is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Anderson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Anderson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Anderson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Anderson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Shukshin looks a forlorn figure.
Shukshin is just holding on here. Anderson manages to take his back.
Shukshin is breathing heavily.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Anderson's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Shukshin is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Anderson gets his way!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Anderson fails with a takedown attempt.
Shukshin has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Anderson finds it's way round the side to connect with Shukshin's head.
No luck for Anderson with that takedown attempt.
Anderson shoots for a double leg takedown but Shukshin sprawls well. He's pushed Anderson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seth Anderson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Anderson is looking to take a break and control but Shukshin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Anderson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Shukshin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Anderson.
Anderson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Anderson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Anderson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Well Anderson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
