Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Franco Valdez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and PJ Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn tries to clinch up but Valdez circles away and keeps his distance.
PJ Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Penn will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Valdez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Valdez takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Valdez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
No joy there for Penn, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
