Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Smart Move (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thor Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Smart Move!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Thor Armstrong!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Move closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Move seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Armstrong avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Move.
Move content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Move prevents Armstrong from standing back up.
Armstrong won't allow Move to pass to mount.
The fighters are battling for position here. Armstrong manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

and Move decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Armstrong's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

We're going to have a standup here because Smart Move wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Move digs a good body shot into Armstrong's ribs.

That's time! Move's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Move lands a decent elbow from side control.
Move slows the pace down.
Armstrong is trying to get back to half guard.

Move is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Armstrong has escaped the position, nice work there.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Armstrong lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Move!
Move holds on to Armstrong as tight as he can, avoiding damage.
Move knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Armstrong on the ground.

Move tries to lock up and control but Armstrong gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Move is in a horrible position here. Armstrong smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Armstrong is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Move can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Smart Move overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Move is looking to get to half guard.
The referee warns Move that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Armstrong controlling the position easily from mount.
Move tries to reverse the position but Armstrong maintains control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Armstrong looking to control but Move is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Move is trying to escape the mount.

Armstrong stands up from mount. Strange move.
Smart Move is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Armstrong wants to clinch up but Move keeps it at a distance.
Armstrong tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Move counters with a shoot takedown. Armstrong fights it but they end up in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Smart Move dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Move will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Armstrong manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Move manages to get himself to full guard.

Move is trying to buck Armstrong off.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

You can see the frustration on Move's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Move on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Move tries to get out of the position.

Armstrong is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Move has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Move!

Armstrong is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Armstrong wants to control but Move passes easily into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Thor Armstrong hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Move, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
