Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gregor Montain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Dempsey!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dempsey circles away from the clinch attempt
and Dempsey counters with a stiff right hand.

Dempsey instigates a clinch.
The referee calls for Montain to work.
Montain swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Montain misses with a punch on the inside.
A body shot lands from Montain.
Montain blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Dempsey escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Montain cracks Dempsey with a big right hand and Dempsey goes down!


It looks like Mark Dempsey has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Montain wants to stand but Dempsey is controlling his posture from full guard.
Dempsey lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Montain!

You get the feeling that Montain really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Montain really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dempsey has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Montain's face.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Montain's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Dempsey is landing with some decent strikes but Montain is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Montain is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Dempsey takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.

Montain shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Montain tests Dempsey's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Dempsey slips a straight right by Montain.
Montain throws out a leg kick but Dempsey moves out of range and Montain only half commits.

Dempsey throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Montain tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dempsey is in Montain's guard.
Dempsey postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Mark Dempsey has got the better of the ground game so far.
Dempsey wants to control from the top but Montain keeps moving.
Montain will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dempsey accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Dempsey prevents Montain from getting back to his feet.

Dempsey postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Dempsey wants to control from the top but Montain keeps moving.
Montain is looking to stand up but Dempsey isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mark Dempsey was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Montain tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Dempsey counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Montain's guard now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dempsey prevents Montain from getting back to his feet.

Dempsey stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Dempsey takes a jab right on the kisser.
Montain sizes up Dempsey with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Dempsey is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Montain circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Dempsey to the canvas! Dempsey doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Montain keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gregor Montain!
