The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mafi rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
enabling Garcia to counter with a crisp jab.
A telegraphed right hand from Mafi misses the target.
Mafi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Garcia shoots in and bounces Mafi off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Garcia is looking to work some ground and pound but Mafi has wrist control.

Garcia drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Garcia jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mafi will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Garcia closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Mafi is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Garcia asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Garcia wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mafi keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Garcia goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Mafi has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Garcia but great work by Mafi.
Garcia tries to improve position but can't.
Mafi wants to stand but Garcia has his arm trapped.

Mafi stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Garcia to get to his feet.

No joy there for Mafi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
