Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lolly Pop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James has chosen We Want The Funk by George Clinton & the P-Funk Allstars as his entrance music. Freddy James will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lolly Pop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Freddy James!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pop steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from James. That one must have hurt.
Pop throws a body kick the misses
and James connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Pop throws a sloppy head kick and James moves out of range easily.
James closes the distance but Pop moves to the side
and Pop counters with a nice low kick that buckles James's knee momentarily.
James changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Lolly Pop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pop throws a leg kick that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
James wants to clinch
and Pop counters with an inside leg kick.
James tries to close the distance and clinch but Pop swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Freddy James is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
James throws a sloppy head kick and Pop moves out of range easily.
Pop throws a head kick but James moves out of range.
James moves out of range of the leg kick from Pop.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
James misses with an uppercut. Pop saw that one coming.
Pop fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt James.
Pop throws a sloppy head kick
and James counters with a stiff right hand.
Pop displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as James throws out the jab.
James stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and James wants it to stay on the feet.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Pop is looking to score with low kicks.

Pop defending well as James loads up on a big left hand.
Pop throws a quick inside leg kick.

and Pop counters with a low kick, right behind James 's knee.
Pop fakes a jab and throws a low kick but James checks it well.
James throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Donk. James catches Pop right on the button with a cross.

James throws a right hand that misses

and Pop counters with a nice double leg into guard.
James is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Pop is controlling him.
Pop loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Pop has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
James is trying to control the position from the bottom.
James is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
James wants to stand and escape but Pop is having none of it.
Pop throwing strikes from guard but James blocks nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Freddy James will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


James defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Pop.
James leaves Pop with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
James throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

James misses with a hook.
Pop swings widly with a right hand
enabling James to counter with a crisp jab.
Nice shot by James.
Pop keeps the fight on the outside.
A clash of legs there as Pop blocks the low kick.
Pop fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

James misses with a wild combination.
A slapping leg kick lands for Pop.
James bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Pop's head backwards.

and James counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Pop throws a leg kick that is checked
and Pop takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Pop misses with a leg kick
and James counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Pop, right into the meat.
James lands with a straight right. Pop didn't see that one coming.
Pop misses with a combination
and James counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

James keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
James thows a leg kick but Pop checks it
and Pop counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Pop throws a head kick that misses
and James counters with a left to the body.
Pop throws out a leg kick but James moves out of range and Pop only half commits.
James has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Pop misses with a body kick.

Freddy James showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Pop walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. James checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

and Pop counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Pop uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
A slow jab from James misses its intended target.
Pop throws a nice inside leg kick.

Pop rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and James counters with a right hand to the body.
Pop closes this distance looking for a takedown but James circles away.
Pop displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as James throws out the jab.

It looks like Lolly Pop has been cut.
Pop throws a leg kick but James sees it coming and moves out of range.

Pop tries for a takedown but James circles away easily
and James counters with a left to the body.

Pop ducks down and throws a hook to the body but James moves away.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Pop.
Pop slips a straight right by James.

James drops Pop with a beautiful combination! Pop stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - James is looking for the KO!
Freddy James is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Freddy James comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got James winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
