Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Fabiski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miles Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Lucas Fabiski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Miles Johnson!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fabiski tries to clinch but Johnson moves away
and Johnson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Johnson leaves Fabiski with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Fabiski closes the distance but Johnson moves to the side
and Johnson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Fabiski fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Johnson has managed to clinch.
Fabiski is looking to control Johnson's arms but Johnson gets an underhook and turns him. Now Fabiski has his back to the cage.

Johnson manages to break the clinch.

Fabiski tries to clinch up

and Johnson moves into the clinch.

Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Fabiski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fabiski changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Fabiski manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lucas Fabiski. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fabiski looks to clinch

and Johnson counters by clinching up.
The referee is keeping an eye on Johnson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Johnson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Johnson shoots in for a double leg but Fabiski sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Fabiski wants to get back to striking at distance but Johnson won't allow it.

Johnson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Fabiski wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy.

Johnson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Fabiski tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Johnson moves into the clinch.

Johnson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Johnson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Fabiski uses from the top position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Johnson wriggles free and stands up.
Johnson shoots in and drives through. Fabiski sprawls well.

Fabiski tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Johnson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Fabiski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Johnson as he avoids it easily.
Fabiski shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Johnson defends it nicely.

Fabiski throws a head kick that misses.

Johnson instigates a clinch.
Fabiski wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Fabiski has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Johnson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Johnson pulls guard effortlessly.

Johnson pushes Fabiski off and gets back to his feet.
Johnson throws a leg kick but Fabiski checks it.
Johnson slaps away a takedown attempt from Fabiski, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Fabiski throws a low kick but Johnson moves out of range easily.
Johnson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fabiski moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Johnson misses with a body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miles Johnson dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Fabiski tries to pull guard but Johnson won't allow it.

and Johnson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Johnson.

Fabiski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Still in half guard, Johnson seems content to control.
Fabiski is looking to control Johnson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fabiski avoid being mounted?
Fabiski is looking for a sweep. Johnson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Johnson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Johnson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fabiski trying to hold on to Johnson's head to control him but Johnson postures up.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Johnson throws a series of punches but Fabiski moves out of range.

Fabiski does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Johnson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Fabiski sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Johnson somewhat.

Miles Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Fabiski shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but Fabiski keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but Fabiski shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well Johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
