Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Makke Hakala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eikichi Onizuka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Makke Hakala had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Makke Hakala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eikichi Onizuka!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Dean Styles and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Onizuka lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Hakala with a poor takedown

so Onizuka counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Hakala managing to control the position.
Onizuka sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hakala's guard.
Hakala is trying to maintain the position but Onizuka is very close to passing his half guard.
Onizuka tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hakala knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Hakala bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Well Onizuka has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
