Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Danny Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyle Alzado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Danny Boy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boy shoots for a takedown but Alzado saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Alzado keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

and Boy counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Alzado's guard now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alzado manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Boy manages to get himself to full guard.
Alzado passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Alzado tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Alzado has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Alzado tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Boy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Alzado wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Alzado works to advance to full mount. Boy defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boy is wriggling around trying to escape.

Boy is bucking up trying to escape but Alzado cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Alzado throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Boy has his hands clasped together but Alzado breaks the hold and Boy is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Alzado!
