The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuchenko gets caught flat footed, as Muhambetov shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Muhambetov is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kuchenko is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kuchenko has escaped and now he's on top!

Muhambetov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kuchenko doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kuchenko manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Kuchenko will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kuchenko is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Muhambetov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Kuchenko goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Muhambetov has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kuchenko but great work by Muhambetov.
Muhambetov is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kuchenko has escaped the position, nice work there.
Muhambetov swings around for an armbar but Kuchenko sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Muhambetov's guard.

Muhambetov is looking for a triangle but Kuchenko pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Muhambetov has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kuchenko is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Muhambetov.
