PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Feodore Sabre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junius E Sneed IV (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Junius E Sneed IV will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Feodore Sabre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Junius E Sneed IV!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabre avoids the body shot from Sneed IV.
Sabre misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jab, jab by Sneed IV - just one landing.
Sneed IV works the jab nicely.

Sabre gets the takedown into side control.
Sabre throws a strike aimed at the side of Sneed IV's head but Sneed IV avoids it well.
Sneed IV is trying to control Sabre's posture but Sabre avoids it.
Sabre misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Sneed IV wants to get back to his feet but Sabre drags him back down.
Sabre misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Sneed IV sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Sabre is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Sabre has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sneed IV is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Sneed IV is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sabre working over Sneed IV with some ground and pound. Sneed IV looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Sneed IV really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sabre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sneed IV wants to get back to his feet.
Sabre scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Sabre not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Sneed IV pushes Sabre off looking to stand but Sabre dives back in and keeps control.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sneed IV can do anything to dispel that myth.

Sabre thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sneed IV's head.

Sabre takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Nice strikes from Sabre there.
Sabre is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Sneed IV!
Sabre takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Sneed IV scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Sneed IV throws a shot from downtown. Sabre moves away and avoids it.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Feodore Sabre.

Sabre shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

A nice elbow there by Sabre.
Sabre unloads with some shots from mount but Sneed IV bucks and avoids them well.

The referee warns Sneed IV that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Sabre wants to finish this one by submission but Sneed IV is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Sabre.

Sabre is landing with some decent strikes but Sneed IV is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Sabre can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Sneed IV is looking to escape.
Sabre fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Sabre connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Sabre wants to control the pace but Sneed IV is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Sneed IV fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Feodore Sabre just wasn't active enough.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sneed IV enables Sabre to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sneed IV manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Sabre working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Sabre throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sneed IV works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Sabre not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Junius E Sneed IV has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sabre postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Sabre trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Sneed IV is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
It looks like Sneed IV is going to stand back up.

Sabre is looking for a triangle but Sneed IV pushes his legs off easily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Sabre throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sneed IV tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sabre is in Sneed IV's guard.

Feodore Sabre showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sabre, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
