The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stalowski tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mercer swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Stalowski tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mercer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Stalowski somewhat.
Mercer misses with a body punch

and Stalowski decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mercer's guard.

Stalowski wants to stand but Mercer is controlling his posture from full guard.

Mercer uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Stalowski tries to clinch up but Mercer circles away and keeps his distance.
Stalowski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mercer as he avoids it easily.
Mercer misses with a two punch combination.
Clay Mercer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stalowski shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mercer but Mercer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Clay Mercer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Czeslaw Stalowski.
Mercer works the jab nicely.
Stalowski tries to clinch up
and Stalowski takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mercer comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Stalowski tries a head kick but it misses.
Stalowski looks gassed!
Stalowski moves out of range of the strikes.
Stalowski shoots in but Mercer avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Mercer lands a leg kick that knocks Stalowski off balance momentarily.
Stalowski has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Stalowski there as he acknowledges the shot.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mercer tries to bum rush Stalowski with a series of wild strikes but Stalowski uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mercer looks to throw the jab but Stalowski is out of range.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mercer, as that shot connected.
Mercer scores with the left hand. Stalowski knows he should have avoided that one.
Mercer throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Mercer moves into the clinch successfully.

Mercer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Mercer.
Mercer uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Stalowski has time to react.
Stalowski takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Mercer lands with a nice body punch.
Stalowski drops his hands momentarily and Mercer takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Stalowski tries to move into range but Mercer moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Stalowski is rocked!

Mercer drops Stalowski with a straight right hand, right on the button! Mercer follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
