Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sammy Sullivan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mikhail Rompevsky!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sullivan thows a leg kick but Rompevsky checks it
and Rompevsky counters with a nice uppercut.
Sullivan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

letting Rompevsky counter with a right hand.
Rompevsky takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.


It looks like Mikhail Rompevsky has been cut.

Sullivan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rompevsky looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Sullivan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rompevsky on the ground.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sammy Sullivan will probably get the nod.

Sullivan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rompevsky has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sullivan has managed to get both his arms back between Rompevsky's legs - danger averted.

Sullivan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sullivan tries to get out of the position.
You can see the frustration on Sullivan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Rompevsky is looking to take a break and control but Sullivan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Sullivan is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Rompevsky is controlling him well.

Rompevsky goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Sullivan has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Rompevsky but great work by Sullivan.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sammy Sullivan.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sullivan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
