The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Negrizolli shoots and misses
enabling St Pierre to counter with a crisp jab.
St Pierre lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

It looks like Lucas Negrizolli has been cut.

St Pierre is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Negrizolli's half guard.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Negrizolli enables St Pierre to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Negrizolli manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

St Pierre decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Negrizolli has momentary wrist control but St Pierre slips an elbow through the middle.
St Pierre stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Negrizolli swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
