PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joseph D Pistone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Azman Hazardi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pistone's entrance music is Clint Mansell - Requiem for a Dream (Remix). A fine choice. Hazardi has chosen Jedi Mind Tricks - Heavy Metal Kings Featuring Ill Bill as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pistone tries to close the distance and clinch but Hazardi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pistone fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Hazardi scores with a nice right hand.
Hazardi swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Pistone counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Pistone.
Hazardi wants to stand up but Pistone is controlling him.
Pistone is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pistone wants to control from the top but Hazardi keeps moving.

Hazardi wants to get back to his feet but Pistone is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Hazardi is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pistone throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Good work by Pistone as he checks the leg kick.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
You can see the frustration on Hazardi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hazardi tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Pistone has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Hazardi has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pistone just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Pistone is trying to stick to Hazardi's back but Hazardi is turning into Pistone. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Pistone's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Hazardi.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hazardi is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pistone is looking to wear down Hazardi with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Pistone looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Pistone fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hazardi manages to avoid it.

I think Hazardi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
