Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ash Ketchum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Everybody Knows kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Alex Jones is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws and low kick but Ketchum moves out of range easily.
Jones throws an overhand right that lands on Ketchum's shoulder, as Ketchum tries to avoid the shot.

Ketchum looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Ketchum is working for a submission of some sort.
Ketchum passes to full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones is squirming around, avoiding Ketchum's attempts to control the action.
Jones is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Ketchum controlling the position easily from mount.
Jones blocking the ground and pound.
Ketchum throws a sloppy strike and Jones uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and Jones has ended up in Ketchum's guard.

Jones has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ketchum is proving hard to escape from.
Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jones has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ketchum is working away from the top position though.

Ketchum tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Ketchum has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Ketchum bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ketchum with the ground and pound but Jones regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Jones wants to get back to his feet.
Ketchum seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Ketchum is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Ketchum eventually gives up the hold.
Ketchum wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jones keeps working.
Jones moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ketchum stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ketchum is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Jones manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Jones has hold of Ketchum's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Ketchum manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Ketchum is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jones knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Ketchum changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Ketchum manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ketchum shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense.
Jones is looking to clinch but Ketchum is avoiding it.
Ketchum shoots in and drives through. Jones sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ash Ketchum. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Horrible takedown by Ketchum or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad.
Ketchum shoots for a takedown but Jones saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Ketchum feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Ketchum has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ketchum, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
