Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hoppsan Barley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elite Pete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pete is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Gansta Party. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Hoppsan Barley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Elite Pete!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Paul Tew and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barley drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Pete wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Pete is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Barley throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Pete on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Pete is not content to let Barley control the position.
Barley lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Barley trying to control the action but Pete is working from the bottom.

Barley working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

The referee asks Barley politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Barley prefers to stall for the moment though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Barley decides to stand back up.

and Pete counters with a nice uppercut.
Barley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Pete misses with a jab, cross combination.
Barley misses with a body kick.
Barley falls off balance throwing a combination
and Pete counters with a series of strikes. Barley will be more careful next time no doubt.
Barley shoots in looking for a takedown. Pete tries to sprawl out of it but Barley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pete manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Barley throws a head kick that half lands.
Pete scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Barley walks into a jab.
Pete blocks a head kick by Barley.
Elite Pete is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A punch combination from Pete misses.

Pete lands with a right hand.
Pete swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Barley gets cracked there but stands up to it.

and Pete connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Pete is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Barley had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Barley looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Pete pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Barley back to the cage. Pete follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Barley throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pete's waist but Pete gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Barley off to one side.

Barley tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Pete manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Pete stalks Barley and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Barley's face. Barley staggers backwards, shaken.
Pete shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Barley eats them both and turns towards Pete to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Pete works Barley's body with a nice hook.
Barley shoots in and drives through. Pete sprawls well.
Pete works over Barley's head and body with a nice combination.
Barley takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Pete stalks Barley and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Barley's face. Barley staggers backwards, shaken.

Pete lands an overhand right.
Pete will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Pete scores with a hook to the body. Barley takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Pete lands a nice hook to Barley's body. Barley takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Pete lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Barley doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Pete throws a right hand that Barley ducks under and follows up with a left that Barley also avoids with ease.
Hoppsan Barley is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pete fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Barley on the side of the head.
Pete lands with a straight right. Barley didn't see that one coming.
Pete uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Barley has time to react.
Pete swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Barley counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Pete's guard now.
Pete manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Barley manages to get himself to full guard.
Pete is looking to stand up but Barley won't let him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pete can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Pete decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Barley takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Pete catches Barley with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Pete stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pete wants it to stay on the feet.
Pete tries to bum rush Barley with a series of wild strikes but Barley uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
