And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniel Styles!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Styles's waist but Styles gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Young off to one side.
Styles tries to close the distance and clinch up but Young swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Young's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Young duly obliges.
Young staying out of range there.
Nice uppercut there from Young.
Styles tries to clinch but Young moves out of range.
Young throws a nice looking combination but Styles bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Young misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Styles throws an off balance right hand
and Young cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Young scores with a sloppy right hand. Styles should have avoided that one.

Styles has Young up against the ropes in a clinch.
Young working hard to break the clinch.

Styles pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Young ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A left and a right from Young both land. Nice combination.
Young paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Young lands with a hook. Styles tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Styles misses with a lunging right hand
and Young connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Styles looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Young is fending him off so far but Styles persists. Nope, Young circles away and we're back to standing.

Styles throws a poor cross that misses
and Young counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Styles tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Young manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Daniel Styles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Styles closes the distance and clinches.

A slow jab from Young misses its intended target.
Young fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Young steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Styles.
Young shoots in for a takedown but Styles shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Young. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Young swats away the attempt to clinch by Styles.
Young is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Styles on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Young feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Styless jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Styles takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Young fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Young rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Styles moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Styles takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Young takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Young moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Styles tries to clinch but Young moves out of range.

Styles drops Young with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Young! Styles dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
