Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Xiao Long Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Fedorov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Xiao Long Li had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fedorov fails with the takedown
and Li counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Li thumps Fedorov with a low kick.

Li shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Fedorov's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fedorov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Li defends well.

Li slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Fedorov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Li defends it easily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Fedorov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Li can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Li's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Xiao Long Li.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Li misses with a body kick.
Li feints and then cracks Fedorov's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Fedorov down.
Li throws a leg kick which misses Fedorov's front leg but catches the back leg as Fedorov tries to avoid it.
Li feints a jab promting Fedorov to slip. Li then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Fedorov slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Li is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

A slapping body kick lands there for Li.

Li shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Li was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Fedorov tries to lock up and control but Li gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Li has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Fedorov's face.

Li tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Fedorov takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Xiao Long Li overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Li pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Good leg kick by Li there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Li looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Fedorov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
