The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lightyear tries to land a front kick but Zirkhov steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Zirkhov is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Lightyear.
Lightyear throws a right and a left that both miss.
Lightyear scores with a jab to the body.
Zirkhov doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Lightyear counters with a shoot takedown. Zirkhov fights it but they end up in guard.
Lightyear trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Zirkhov keeping moving, preventing Lightyear from controlling successfully.
Zirkhov wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Zirkhov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lightyear has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Zirkhov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lightyear keeps working.

Zirkhov is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Lightyear is trying to escape and Zirkhov transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Lightyear is forced to tap! Nice work there by Zirkhov! Very nice indeed!
