Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tony Jaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Poopdeck Pj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jaa kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Search and Destroy. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tony Jaa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Poopdeck Pj!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jaa moves into the clinch successfully.
Jaa misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Pj.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Pj is pushing Jaa up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Pj is looking for a kimura but Jaa is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Pj to get the leverage.
Pj throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Poopdeck Pj wasn't active enough on the ground.
Jaa slips under a jab from Pj.
Pj throws a looping overhand right but Jaa ducks down to avoid it.
A low kick from Pj is predictable there
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Jaa lands a leg kick that knocks Pj off balance momentarily.

Jaa feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Pj's calf.
Jaa throws a sloppy body shot
and Pj counters with a nice uppercut.
Pj displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jaa throws out the jab.
Jaa dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Pj. That did some damage!
Pj moves out of range as Jaa throws a body kick.
Pj swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jaa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Pj misses with a low kick.
Pj walks forward, straight into a front kick from Jaa.
Pj throws the kick towards the body but Jaa avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tony Jaa will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Good leg kick by Jaa there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Pj tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Jaa throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Pj sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Jaa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jaa misses with an attempted mid kick.
Pj swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Jaa counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Pj is breathing heavily.
Pj takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jaa lands with a kick to the temple. Pj shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Pj shoots in but no luck this time.

Pj has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Jaa.

Pj sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Jaa moves in looking to clinch but Pj pushes him off.
Pj takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Pj drops his hands momentarily and Jaa takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Jaa lands a nice looking kick to the body. Pj takes a step back to recover.
Pj throws a series of punches but Jaa moves out of range.

Jaa drives through and clinches with Pj against the cage.

Jaa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pj throws out a powerful jab.
Tony Jaa is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Jaa tries to close the distance and clinch but Pj swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jaa blocks a head kick by Pj.
Some wild striking there from Jaa.
Poopdeck Pj has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jaa throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pj stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Pj falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jaa counters with a low kick, right behind Pj 's knee.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A combination from Jaa does no damage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tony Jaa showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jaa, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
