The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hearted closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Mendez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hearted winds up and cracks Mendez with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Hearted scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

It looks like Rob Mendez has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hearted looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mendez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That has opened up Rob Mendez's cut even more.
Mendez has hold of Hearted's hands but Hearted slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Rob Mendez's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Rob Mendez's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
