PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Stojkowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Cutler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cutler has chosen It's Not Over by Daughtry as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jan Stojkowski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Cutler!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cutler on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
A slow jab from Stojkowski misses its intended target.
Cutler shoots in but no luck this time.
Stojkowski misses with a wild body shot.
Stojkowski throws a lazy right hand but Cutler sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
A jab from Stojkowski misses.
Stojkowski looks to score with a jab to the body but Cutler is just out of range.
Stojkowski misses the jab.
Cutler looks for a takedown but Stojkowski sprawls well.
Stojkowski misses with a hook

and Cutler moves into the clinch.
Cutler is trying to drag Stojkowski to the mat but Stojkowski just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Jan Stojkowski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Cutler.
Cutler's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Cutler tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Stojkowski just stands there and leans against the cage.
The referee calls for Stojkowski to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A frustrated look appears on Stojkowski's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Cutler can't get the takedown.
Cutler changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Stojkowski fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Stojkowski lands a right hook to the body.
Cutler looks gassed!
Stojkowski stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stojkowski wants it to stay on the feet.

Stojkowski feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Cutler sprawling to the canvas! Cutler rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Stojkowski finish him?!


It looks like Jay Cutler has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stojkowski cracks Cutler on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Cutler falls backwards against the cage. Stojkowski follows up with more strikes that drop Cutler to his knees. Stojkowski keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Cutler! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jan Stojkowski!
