The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lacerda bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Lacerda wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Trout, who protects the arm well.

Lacerda goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Trout has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Lacerda but great work by Trout.

Lacerda throws Trout to one side and escapes!
Trout lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Jeremiah Trout is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Lacerda will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lacerda looks for a takedown but Trout sprawls well.
Lacerda closes this distance looking for a takedown but Trout circles away.
Jeremiah Trout has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Genival Lacerda.
Lacerda blocks the body kick.
Trout throws a head kick that misses

and Lacerda counters with a nice double leg into side control. Trout won't be happy with that.
Lacerda tries to move to mount but Trout blocks the move with his legs.

Lacerda thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Lacerda has hold of Trout's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Trout seems comfortable defending it but Lacerda has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Trout is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Trout is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Lacerda couldn't care less - he's delighted!
