Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Donnie Holnick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kunnon Paukku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holnick throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Holnick circles away from the clinch attempt
and Holnick counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Paukku's guard now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Paukku can do anything to dispel that myth.
Paukku wants to stand but Holnick is controlling the position.
Holnick postures up in Paukku's guard and throws a big left but Paukku blocks it.
Paukku avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Holnick trying to control but Paukku is working from the bottom.
Holnick loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Paukku digs a good hook to Holnick's body.

and Holnick counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Holnick has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Paukku really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Holnick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Holnick is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Holnick seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Paukku for as long as he can get away with.

We're going to have a standup here because Donnie Holnick wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Holnick goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Holnick takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Holnick misses with a low kick.
Holnick stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Kunnon Paukku is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Paukku rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Holnick counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Paukku's guard now.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Paukku has momentary wrist control but Holnick slips an elbow through the middle.
Holnick wants to control from the top but Paukku keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Donnie Holnick dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Paukku lands a jab.
Holnick takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Paukku scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

The fighters circle momentarily. Paukku darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Paukku fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

and Holnick counters with a nice double leg into side control. Paukku won't be happy with that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Paukku avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Holnick.
Paukku seems a little lost for a moment, as Holnick dominates the positioning.

Paukku is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Holnick is controlling him well.

Holnick has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Paukku!
Holnick has hold of Paukku's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Paukku manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Holnick stops Paukku from getting back to his feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Donnie Holnick wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Paukku has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Holnick throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Paukku was covering up waiting for the punch and Holnick finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Holnick stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Paukku swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Holnick is looking to work some ground and pound but Paukku has wrist control.
Kunnon Paukku has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Paukku has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Holnick is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Paukku.
Paukku is pushing Holnick's head away, looking to escape. Holnick manages to hold on to the position though.
And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Holnick, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
