The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Illya Tyunina and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boeg throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Giel counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Urban Boeg has been cut.
Giel misses with the combination.
Giel throws a combination that misses
and Boeg counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Boeg.
Boeg misses with a knee strike.
Giel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Boeg darts in trying to clinch
and Giel counters with a three punch combo that has Boeg backing up. Boeg nods at Giel to acknowledge the strikes.
Giel looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Giel fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Giel counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Giel throws a series of punches but Boeg avoids them all with ease.
Giel pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Boeg back to the cage. Giel follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Urban Boeg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Giel throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Boeg avoids a punch combination nicely.

and Giel counters with a one-two to the body.
Paul Giel is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

No joy there for Giel, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Giel lands a left and a right that send Boeg crashing to the mat, dazed. Giel thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Boeg is rocked!
Giel throws a right and a left that both miss.
Giel cracks Boeg's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Boeg slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Giel can do further damage! This one is done, son!
