Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Will Rook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Maxwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rook's entrance music is Shinedown-Simple Man. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rook tries to clinch up
and Maxwell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rook tries a head kick but it misses.
Rook tries to clinch but Maxwell moves away
and Maxwell counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Rook blocks a head kick by Maxwell.
Rook tries to clinch but Maxwell moves away

and Maxwell holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Rook looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Rook keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Maxwell's efforts to push away.
Maxwell managing to block the knees to the body from Rook.

Maxwell has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Rook regains guard immediately.
Rook wants to stand and escape but Maxwell is having none of it.
Maxwell keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rook's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rook wants to sweep here but Maxwell controlling him for the moment.
Rook wants to stand and escape but Maxwell is having none of it.
Maxwell lands a couple of elbows.

Maxwell distracts Rook with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Rook wants to stand but Maxwell is controlling the position.
Rook is breathing heavily.
Maxwell chips away with some ground and pound.
Maxwell is stalling in the full guard.
Rook is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Maxwell keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Rook's head.
Rook can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Maxwell controls the pace.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Brock Maxwell wasn't active enough on the ground.
Rook closes the distance but Maxwell moves to the side

so Maxwell counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Maxwell decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Maxwell lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Rook goes down and covers up as Maxwell starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
