Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mauri Alavaara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dutch Schaeffer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schaeffer has chosen All Along the Watchtower as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mauri Alavaara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dutch Schaeffer!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alavaara scores with a leg kick.
Alavaara goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Schaeffer misses with a takedown
and Alavaara cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Alavaara lands a really nice looking cross but Schaeffer seems unphased.
Schaeffer has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Alavaara.
Schaeffer doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Schaeffer takes a kick to the side of the head.
Alavaara scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Schaeffer tries for a takedown but Alavaara circles away easily
and Alavaara counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Alavaara lands with a straight right. Schaeffer didn't see that one coming.
Alavaara lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Alavaara.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alavaara lands a head kick. Schaeffer smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Dutch Schaeffer has been cut.

Schaeffer throws a head kick that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Schaeffer has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Schaeffer there as he acknowledges the shot.

Schaeffer is rocked!
Alavaara misses with a head kick.
Schaeffer shoots in for a double leg but Alavaara sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Mauri Alavaara has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dutch Schaeffer.
Schaeffer closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Alavaara lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Schaeffer is trying desperately to land a takedown but Alavaara is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Schaeffer.
Alavaara scores with a one two! Schaeffer had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Schaeffer is still on wobbly legs! Can Alavaara finish him?
Horrible takedown by Schaeffer or perhaps it was just good defense by Alavaara which made him look bad.
Schaeffer seems to have recovered his senses.
Schaeffer looks gassed!
Schaeffer throws a lazy head kick
and Alavaara counters with a body kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Alavaara lands a big head kick that sends Schaeffer tumbling to the mat! Alavaara takes a step backwards and waves Schaeffer back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Alavaara dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Schaeffer. That did some damage!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Alavaara connects with a combination that backs up Schaeffer into the cage. Alavaara lands a flurry of punches that gets past Schaeffer's guard. Schaeffer is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Alavaara bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mauri Alavaara!
