Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pat Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elwood Buckknuckle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Buckknuckle shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Smith's guard.
Smith is looking to stand back up but Buckknuckle counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Smith.

Buckknuckle is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Smith has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Buckknuckle is working away from the top position though.
Buckknuckle drops an elbow to the side of Smith's head.
Buckknuckle is looking to advance position but Smith won't allow it.
Buckknuckle slips a nice elbow through Smith's hands, connecting with Smith's forehead.
Buckknuckle working Smith over with strikes.
Buckknuckle throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Buckknuckle is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Smith!

Smith tries to reverse the position but Buckknuckle maintains control.
Smith is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Buckknuckle lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Buckknuckle breaks from Smith's wrist control and lands an elbow.

It looks like Pat Smith has been cut.

Pat Smith's cut is getting worse.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Buckknuckle softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Smith is out cold! Buckknuckle jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
