Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Klaus Engbloom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perry comes into the arena with Cara Dillon vs. 2 Devine - Black Is the Colour (Coco & Green Remix) blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chuck Perry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Klaus Engbloom!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Engbloom misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Perry throws a series of punches but Engbloom avoids them all with ease.
Perry looks to land a body kick but Engbloom moved away.
Perry scores with a head kick. Engbloom tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Perry stuffs the takedown.
Perry drops Engbloom with a left right combo! Perry follows him down to the ground into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Engbloom can do anything to dispel that myth.
Perry thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Perry stands up and we're back to a striking position.
A nice combination there by Engbloom.
Perry looks for the body kick but Engbloom saw that one coming.

and Engbloom counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Perry's guard now.

Engbloom drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Perry manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Engbloom has Perry in his guard.

Engbloom really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Perry. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Perry seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Perry is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Engbloom doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Perry.
Engbloom is looking to control Perry's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Engbloom avoid being mounted?
Perry is looking to take a break and control but Engbloom is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Engbloom is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Perry jumps into side control!

Engbloom is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Perry is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Engbloom knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Engbloom has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Perry is working away from the top position though.

Perry misses with a hook. Engbloom ducked under it nicely.

and Engbloom counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Perry!

Perry bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Engbloom had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Perry defends it easily.

Engbloom is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Engbloom will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Chuck Perry has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Sloppy strikes from Perry. Those never looked like landing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Perry misses with a low kick.
Engbloom has his takedown stuffed
and Perry counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Perry.
Chuck Perry overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Engbloom wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Perry stands and throws Engbloom's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Engbloom tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Engbloom tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Perry cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Engbloom wants to hold on but Perry pushes him away.
Perry tries to control but Engbloom wriggling away.

Perry has the hooks in. Engbloom is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Engbloom content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Perry has locked up a guillotine! Perry's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Engbloom is holding on here and Perry must be using up a lot of energy. Engbloom has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Perry gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
