Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Charles Holt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and john gill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Glass and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

gill has taken the fight to the clinch.
gill should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Holt looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
gill swings wildly with an uppercut but Holt uses good head movement to avoid it.
gill working hard to break the clinch.
gill looking for a takedown.
Holt wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

gill manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Holt has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of gill is proving hard to escape from.
gill is pulling down on Holt's head to control his posture.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
gill is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
gill wants to lay and pray for a moment but Holt keeps working.

Holt knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for gill on the ground.
gill scores with a couple of good head shots there.

gill goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Holt is on top in guard.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
gill is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
gill lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Holt!

gill can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Holt is looking to escape.
gill is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Holt is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Holt blocking the ground and pound.
gill tries to control but Holt wriggling away.
Holt tries to lock up and control but gill gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

gill wants to finish this one by submission but Holt is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from gill.
gill wants to control the pace but Holt is squirming around nicely.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

gill rushes Holt and presses him up against the cage.
gill tries to pull guard but Holt holds him up against the cage and eventually gill drops back down to his feet.
Holt manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Holt tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. gill smiles and moves away.

gill manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Holt got a little sloppy there for a moment and gill has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Holt has managed to get both his arms back between gill's legs - danger averted.
gill is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
gill looking to hit a scissor sweep but Holt is one step ahead there.
Holt has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Holt won't allow gill to get back to his feet.
Holt looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Holt passes gill's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Holt will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Holt takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

gill misses with an elbow from the bottom.
gill tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Holt wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
gill wants to get back to his feet but Holt drags him back down.
gill is trying to improve his position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Holt closes the distance and clinches up with gill, looking for a takedown. Holt pushes gill against the cage but gill circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
gill looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Holt is fending him off so far but gill persists. Nope, Holt circles away and we're back to standing.

Holt wants to clinch up but gill keeps it at a distance.
Holt keeps the fight on the outside.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Holt moves to clinch but gill breaks away

and gill counters by clinching up.
Stalling in the clinch from Holt.
gill jumps guard but Holt stands there with gill around his waist. gill gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Charles Holt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of john gill.
Holt trying to control the position but instead, gill has worked for underhooks and has pushed Holt into the cage.
gill wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
gill tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Holt is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Holt crunches a lovely knee into gill's ribcage.
gill looking to throw knees to the head but Holt is blocking nicely.

Holt gets control of gill's arms and successfully pulls guard. Holt will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

gill lands a couple of elbows.
Holt keeping moving, preventing gill from controlling successfully.
Holt trying to keep a closed guard but gill is proving a slippery customer.
gill trying to control the position from guard on top but Holt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

gill wants to control from the top but Holt keeps moving.

OK we're going to have a standup here. john gill hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Holt misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Holt throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
gill throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Holt's waist but Holt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing gill off to one side.
Holt tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but gill paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Holt closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming gill to the mat! gill manages to get full guard.
Holt slips nicely into half guard.
gill is trying to control but can't.

gill manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Holt shoots for a double leg takedown but gill sprawls well. He's pushed Holt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
No luck for Holt with that takedown attempt.
gill throws a leg kick that misses.
gill tries for a takedown but Holt circles away easily

and Holt counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

gill manages to escape and get back to his feet!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A low kick from gill is predictable there
and Holt counters with a good, hard body kick but gill shrugs it off.
gill fails with the takedown.
gill tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
