Zak is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: strenght to go on - rise against. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Neidhart!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lloyd Zak!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Bruno Lombardi and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neidhart throws a lazy right hand but Zak sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Zak looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Zak loads up on a big right hand but Neidhart slips the punch.
Neidhart keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Zak is looking to clinch but Neidhart is avoiding it.
Zak tries to clinch up.
Zak tries to grapple but his opponent circles
letting Neidhart counter with a right hand.
Zak throws out a loose jab but Neidhart uses good head movement to avoid it.
Neidhart avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Neidhart swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Zak is looking to clinch.
Neidhart throws a lazy uppercut
and Zak cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.


It looks like Jim Neidhart has been cut.
Zak is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Neidhart.

Zak throws a right and a left that Neidhart avoids nicely.
Neidhart keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Zak.
Lloyd Zak is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Zak darts in trying to clinch

and Neidhart counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Neidhart.
Neidhart postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Neidhart lands a couple of elbows.
Neidhart works over Zak with some ground and pound from guard.
Neidhart postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Neidhart lands a couple of decent looking shots.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Zak must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Neidhart throws a strike but Zak rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Zak trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Neidhart is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Neidhart thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Neidhart is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Neidhart prevents Zak from improving his position.
Neidhart slips a nice elbow through Zak's hands, connecting with Zak's forehead.
Zak looks gassed!
Neidhart slows the pace down in half guard.
Neidhart looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Zak with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zak trying to hold on to Neidhart's head to control him but Neidhart postures up.
Zak keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Neidhart wants to lay and pray for a moment but Zak keeps working.
Neidhart lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Neidhart is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Neidhart is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Zak's half guard.

Neidhart is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Neidhart seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Neidhart is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Neidhart lands a nice shot to the head.

Zak is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Neidhart unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Zak wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Neidhart celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jim Neidhart!
