PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenshiro Kasumi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ainsley Clearly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kasumi's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Ai Wo Torimodose aka Song of Manliness. Ainsley Clearly is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Marco Blurström.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kasumi lands a jab to Clearly's midsection.
Clearly looks to land a body kick but Kasumi moved away.
Clearly walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

It looks like Ainsley Clearly has been cut.
Clearly throws a leg kick which misses Kasumi's front leg but catches the back leg as Kasumi tries to avoid it.
Kasumi pushes Clearly away with a front kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kasumi lands with a cross.
Clearly cracks Kasumi with an open hand slap.
Clearly misses with a wild body shot.
Kasumi fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Clearly looks gassed!
Kasumi jabs Clearly right on the nose. Clearly blinks but takes it well.

and Kasumi counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Kasumi moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Kasumi dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Kasumi lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Kasumi lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Clearly at a distance.
A decent looking cross lands there for Kasumi.

Kasumi catches Clearly napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Clearly to the canvas!

That has opened up Ainsley Clearly's cut even more.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kasumi's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kasumi throws a big right hand that misses.

Kasumi lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Kasumi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Clearly can do anything to dispel that myth.
Kasumi missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Kasumi controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Kasumi throwing strikes from guard but Clearly blocks nicely.
Kasumi is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Clearly working a defensive guard but Kasumi manages to pass into side control anyway.

Kasumi connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Clearly some visible discomfort.

Kasumi tries for a kimura but Clearly is defending well.
Kasumi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kasumi is putting a hurting on Clearly here, landing some big shots from side control.
Kasumi is looking to take a break and control but Clearly is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kasumi stands up.
Clearly takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Kasumi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The cut above Ainsley Clearly's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Clearly takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
The crowd cheers as Kasumi lands an impressive looking overhand right. Clearly doesn't seem phased though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kasumi shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Clearly eats them both and turns towards Kasumi to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Ainsley Clearly's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ainsley Clearly's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
