And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Horrible takedown by Nelson or perhaps it was just good defense by Plankchest which made him look bad.
Plankchest tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nelson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nelson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Nelson tries to advance to mount but Plankchest denies him.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Plankchest is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Nelson is controlling him well.
Nelson works to advance to full mount. Plankchest defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Nelson moves to take his opponent's back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
