Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barry Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dog Hercules (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Smith might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to When Will They Shoot. Barry Smith could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Dog Hercules's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith fails with the takedown
and Hercules counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Smith rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hercules counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Smith misses with a hook to the body
and Hercules counters with a nice uppercut.
Hercules is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Hercules shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hercules showed some decent athleticism there.
Hercules seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Hercules takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Dog Hercules hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Smith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Hercules counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Hercules won't allow Smith to sweep him here.
Hercules is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Smith is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Smith shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Hercules counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hercules.
Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Smith has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hercules is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Smith.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Smith is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hercules's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hercules's back!
Smith is trying to stick to Hercules's back but Hercules is turning into Smith. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Smith's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Hercules.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hercules in particular looking to stall.
