Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frank Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arman Dorh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dorh has chosen Todo poderoso as his entrance music. Frank Alves is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Alves!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arman Dorh!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dorh misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Dorh lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Arman Dorh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dorh lands with a right hand.
Alves takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Dorh fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dorh swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Dorh throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Alves counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dorh throws a series of punches but Alves avoids them all with ease.
Dorh uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Alves has time to react.

and Dorh counters with a two punch combo.

Alves closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Alves sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Dorh is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Dorh tries to escape but Alves is in control.
Dorh isn't going anywhere.
Alves trying to control the position but Dorh is working away.

Alves is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dorh knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Alves is breathing heavily.
Dorh is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Alves is trying to control. Dorh wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dorh tries to roll over but Alves keeps him under control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Alves connects with a nice short shot to Dorh's temple.

Alves keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Dorh is pressing down on Alves's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Alves trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Alves with a nice head shot there.
Alves passes into half guard.

Dorh manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Dorh shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Dorh with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dorh tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Alves.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Dorh drops Alves with a beautiful combination! Alves stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Dorh is looking for the KO!


It looks like Frank Alves has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Alves gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Dorh slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Dorh slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dorh decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Dorh scores with a shot to the body.

Dorh tries to clinch up but Alves circles away and keeps his distance.
Frank Alves is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dorh moves into range and connects with a jab.
Alves takes one on the button.
Nice uppercut lands for Dorh. That snapped Alves's head back.
Alves gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Dorh.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dorh lands a big right hand that sends Alves crashing to the mat! Dorh stays standing though and waves Alves back to his feet!

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Dorh scores with a shot to the body.
Dorh with a jab.
Alves dodges the punch combination from Dorh.
Dorh moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Dorh shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Dorh was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dorh gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Dorh sends Alves crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Dorh is motioning to the referee to let Alves up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

and Alves counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Alves.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dorh is on top in guard.
Dorh tries to stand but Alves is controlling from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Arman Dorh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Dorh tries to pass to full mount but Alves defends it.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Alves is staying active underneath Dorh, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Dorh catches Alves with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Dorh closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Dorh uses his free foot to push down on Alves's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Alves.

Dorh is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Dorh looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Alves takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Dorh throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Alves stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Sloppy strikes from Dorh. Those never looked like landing.
Dorh turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Dorh tries to bum rush Alves with a series of wild strikes but Alves uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Dorh lands a left and a right that send Alves crashing to the mat, dazed. Dorh thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Dorh sizes up Alves with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Dorh finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Alves seems to have got his legs back now.
Alves avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dorh cracks Alves with an open hand slap.

Dorh misses with a few strikes there.
Dorh rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alves moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Dorh wants to take a breather but Alves is having none of it.

The cut man is working on Frank Alves's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Dorh connects with an inside leg kick.
Dorh stalks Alves and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Alves's face. Alves staggers backwards, shaken.
Alves circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dorh connects with a crisp jab.
Dorh closes the distance looking to clinch

and Alves counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dorh won't be happy with that.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
Dorh can't do much from the bottom here.

Alves throwing strikes but Dorh manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Dorh works to advance to full mount. Alves defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Alves prevents Dorh from taking his back.
Dorh takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Dorh looking to finish Alves with some ground and pound. This is bad for Alves!

Dorh stands up from mount. Strange move.

Alves showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Dorh.
Frank Alves has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dorh misses with a double jab.
Dorh throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Dorh drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Dorh works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Arman Dorh is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Dorh looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

And that's the end of the fight!
Arman Dorh comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dorh has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
