PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pasha Dasari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hintu Ramoata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dasari comes to the cage accompanied by Stinkfist. Ramoata has chosen calm before the storm as his entrance music. The key to victory for Pasha Dasari has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pasha Dasari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hintu Ramoata!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Mauricio Rocha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dasari chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Ramoata fails with the takedown.
Dasari misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ramoata throws a sloppy head kick

and Dasari counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Ramoata is trying to maintain a safe position but Dasari gets an underhook and turns Ramoata into the cage.
Ramoata goes for a takedown in the clinch but Dasari prevents it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dasari has clasped his hands together around Ramoata's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Dasari decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ramoata, up you get!
Ramoata wants to clinch but Dasari slips to the side

and Dasari holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Dasari is trying to trip Ramoata. He has hold of a leg but Ramoata is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dasari persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Ramoata escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dasari gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ramoata is pulling down on Dasari's head. It's preventing any offense from Dasari, at least for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dasari is looking to stand up but Ramoata won't let him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dasari avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Ramoata has his foot on Dasari's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dasari works his way back into a safe position though.

Dasari decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Dasari forces Ramoata back against the cage and clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Pasha Dasari will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ramoata is defended easily by Dasari.
Ramoata shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Dasari counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dasari.
Ramoata tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dasari just stands there and leans against the cage.
Pasha Dasari has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hintu Ramoata.

Dasari works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ramoata is on top in guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Ramoata lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Ramoata looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dasari with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Ramoata moves nicely into side control.
Dasari is pushing Ramoata's head away, looking to escape. Ramoata manages to hold on to the position though.

Hintu Ramoata showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Ramoata closes the distance and clinches up with Dasari, looking for a takedown. Ramoata pushes Dasari against the cage but Dasari circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Ramoata shoots in looking for a takedown. Dasari tries to sprawl out of it but Ramoata keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dasari manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

And that's the end of the fight!
Pasha Dasari showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Dasari has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
