Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Robin Hood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darren Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Robin Hood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Darren Williams!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams moves out of range of the strikes.
Williams circles away from the clinch attempt.
Robin Hood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams thows a body shot but no joy.
Hood misses with a takedown attempt - Williams sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Williams shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hood pinned against the cage. Hood gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Williams counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hood!

Williams looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Williams prevents Hood from getting the reversal.
Williams manages to capitalize on a mistake by Hood to take his back!
Hood controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Williams is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Williams is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Hood knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Hood for a finish.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Williams has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Hood has passed into side control.

Hood decides to stand back up. Hood steps back and let's Williams get back to his feet.

Williams drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hood not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Williams wants to pass the guard but Hood is keeping the position.
Williams looking to sit in guard and control but Hood gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Hood connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Williams shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hood's guard.

and Williams counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Hood is looking to control Williams's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hood avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Williams is looking to take a break and control but Hood is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hood is looking to escape.
Williams passes to full mount!

Williams stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Hood misses with a takedown

and Williams counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Williams loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Hood is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Williams throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Williams wants to pass the guard but Hood is keeping the position.
Williams would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hood managing to control the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Hood manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Williams throws a jab when Hood was well out of range.
Williams circles away from the clinch attempt

and Williams counters with a shoot takedown. Hood fights it but they end up in guard.

Williams is fighting to break Hood's control of his arms but Hood is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Darren Williams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Hood throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Williams sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Williams shoots in and bounces Hood off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Hood throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Williams pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hood is keeping the position for now.
Hood throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Hood is trying to hold Williams in close to prevent damage but Williams has managed to pass into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hood keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Williams prevents Hood from standing back up.
Hood is trying to maintain the position but Williams is very close to passing his half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hood.
A head kick from Hood lands but Williams takes it in his stride.
Williams displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hood throws out the jab.
Williams shoots in for a takedown but Hood shows good takedown defense.
Hood gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Williams holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Williams can't get the takedown.

Hood breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hood throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

and Williams counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Hood is trying to keep Williams in close.
Hood seems keen to control Williams's posture.
Williams prevents Hood from getting back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Williams is in close to Hood's body, working some short punches and elbows.


It looks like Robin Hood has been cut.
Hood is looking to stand back up but Williams counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Hood.

Williams tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Williams has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Williams lands a nice forearm strike.

Williams has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Hood is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Williams yanks on the arm and Hood is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Williams.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:01 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Darren Williams!
