PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Harry Moon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andres Kana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kana has chosen Notorious B.I.G- Hypnotize as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kana fails with an attempt to clinch.

and Moon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kana's guard.

Moon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Moon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Kana is controlling Moon's posture.
Moon wants to control from the top but Kana keeps moving.
Kana really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Moon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kana is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Moon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Moon is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kana is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kana has escaped and now he's on top!

Moon tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Kana has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Moon tries to reverse the position but Kana maintains control.
Kana wants to control the pace but Moon is squirming around nicely.

Moon is working hard here to advance position.
Moon is breathing heavily.
Kana wants to get back to his feet but Moon is holding on tight.
Moon is trying desperately to improve position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Moon is squirming around, avoiding Kana's attempts to control the action.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moon is desperately trying to improve his position but Kana has a good base and remains in mount.

Kana has hold of Moon's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Moon manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Kana with a poor takedown

Kana regains half guard.
Moon is taking a breather. Kana says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Moon trying to control the action but Kana is working from the bottom.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kana keeping control of the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Harry Moon.

Moon looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Moon is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Kana sees it coming and defends easily.

Moon seems to be working for a kimura but Kana defends the submission attempt.
Kana pushes Moon off looking to stand but Moon dives back in and keeps control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Moon takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Moon prevents Kana from standing back up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Moon content to control rather than advance.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Harry Moon wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Kana misses with a takedown attempt

and Moon counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kana won't be happy with that.
Kana is looking to regain half guard here but Moon keeps moving and retains side control.
You can see the frustration on Kana's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Moon has an Americana. Kana didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Moon is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Moon hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
