PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sergey Boyko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hanibal Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kane has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kane closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Boyko to the mat! Boyko manages to get full guard.

Boyko leaves Kane with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kane shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Boyko pinned against the cage. Boyko gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Boyko slaps away a takedown attempt from Kane, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kane chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Boyko can pounce on him.
Sergey Boyko is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
No joy there for Boyko, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kane shoots in looking for a takedown but Boyko manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Kane's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Boyko counters with a nice low kick that buckles Kane's knee momentarily.
Sergey Boyko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hanibal Kane.

and Boyko counters with an inside leg kick.
Kane changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Boyko tries to avoid it but Kane manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Boyko to the ground. Boyko escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Boyko wants to get back to his feet but Kane is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Kane is looking to work some ground and pound but Boyko has wrist control.

Kane drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Boyko dives on top into guard.
Hanibal Kane has got the better of the ground game so far.

Boyko decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kane, up you get!
