PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksei Alenichev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James comes to the ring accompanied by Super Freak. Alenichev has chosen "Acid Rain" by Liquid Tension Experiment as his entrance music. The key to victory for Rick James has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and James counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

and James counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

James throws a nice looking combination but Alenichev bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and James counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Alenichev shoots in looking for a takedown but James manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Alenichev's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
