The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with a shot to the body
and Ripper counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Silva actively working from the bottom here.
Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ripper pulls his head out easily.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Silva makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Silva.
Ripper must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Ripper is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Silva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ripper doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ripper manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Silva pushes a forearm under Ripper's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Ripper is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
