The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
laposun wants to clinch
and Salaam counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
laposun has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Salaam is working away from the top position though.
laposun looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

laposun is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Salaam pulls his head out easily.
Well, if Salaam is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Salaam throwing shots but laposun is blocking nicely.
Salaam is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Salaam in particular looking to stall.

Salaam slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Salaam looking to pass the guard.
laposun has his foot on Salaam's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Salaam works his way back into a safe position though.
laposun is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
laposun is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Salaam is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Salaamis looking to pass into half guard but laposun pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now laposun is in guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Salaam holds on and takes a little breather.
Salaam looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Geiger Salaam dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
laposun will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Salaam stuffs the takedown.
Salaam connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed laposun momentarily.
Salaam circles away from the clinch attempt
and Salaam counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps laposun thinking.
Pipiro laposun is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Salaam lands with a kick to the ribs.

Salaam drops laposun with a straight right hand, right on the button! Salaam follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
