The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
de Jong wants to clinch
and St Pierre counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in de Jong's guard now.

de Jong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with St Pierre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if de Jong can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
St Pierre is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. de Jong is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. de Jong flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. St Pierre anticipates the leg and manages to get behind de Jong and secures both hooks! This could be bad! St Pierre slips an arm under de Jong chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. St Pierre has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. St Pierre is squeezing on de Jong like an anaconda would it's prey. de Jong fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
